At gpscamera.net, we believe your photos and location data belong solely to you. This Privacy Policy outlines how we protect your information by ensuring our tool operates securely within your browser.
1. Information We DO NOT Collect
We are proud to operate a zero-knowledge, zero-storage web application. Here is what we absolutely do not do:
- No User Accounts: We do not require sign-ups, and we do not collect names, email addresses, or phone numbers to use the camera.
- No Photo Uploads: Your camera feed and the photos you capture are never uploaded to our servers. All image processing (stamping the GPS data onto the photo) happens locally on your device using HTML5 technology.
- No Location Tracking: We request location permissions solely to stamp the current coordinates onto your photo at the exact moment you click "Capture." We do not store your location history or track you in the background.
2. How the Application Works
When you grant gpscamera.net access to your camera and location, those permissions remain locked within your browser's secure sandbox. The resulting image file is generated in your browser's memory and downloaded directly to your local hard drive or photo gallery.
Note: We do use third-party APIs (such as OpenStreetMap/Nominatim or Google Maps) to fetch the physical street address corresponding to your coordinates. This involves sending coordinate data to those services to retrieve the text address.
3. Google AdSense & Cookies
Because gpscamera.net is completely free, we rely on advertisements provided by Google AdSense to maintain our website.
- Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings.
4. Analytics
We may use basic, anonymized web analytics (such as Google Analytics) to understand general website traffic patterns (e.g., how many visitors we get per day, which browser types are most common). This data does not personally identify you and cannot be linked back to the photos you take.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
